Operating Profit also declined by kshs.406 million due to reduced margins as increased cost of distribution, stock effect and lower selling prices. On 1st June 2009, Total announced that it has finalized the acquisition of Chevron (Caltex) company in Kenya. This will see Chevron change its name to Total Marketing Kenya Limited and later merge with Total Kenya to form one entity.
